Our client is seeking a Sr. Proofreader Technical Writer III for a direct hire role.

Responsibilities:Perform high-level proofreading and editing of complex academic, professional, and technical publications.Collaborate with government clients and stakeholders to ensure that all materials are aligned with the Chicago Manual of Style and NWC Press guidelines.Oversee the production, quality control, and version management of manuscripts, books, journals, and other technical documents.Mentor and provide directions to junior proofreaders and writers, ensuring editorial consistency.Evaluate arguments, review and proofread for accuracy in style, grammar, spelling, and logical coherence.Ensure deadlines are met for critical publications by managing the workflow and scheduling team efforts.

Qualifications:2+ years of experience in an academic or professional publication environment.Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a related field.Mastery of Chicago Manual of Style and familiarity with government documentation standards.Proven ability to handle high-level editorial reviews and revisions.Strong supervisory and team leadership skills.Must be able to obtain a CAC card with the Department of Navy
