Retail Media Investment & Partnership Lead , you will be responsible for setting a strategic agenda for our retail media platform partnerships and investments to drive growth in-store and online. You will partner closely with internal cross-functional teams, our media agency, and the Retail Media Networks to codify & scale retail media best practices (onsite/offsite). You will lead the development of our Retail Media JBPs, introducing new and innovative ways to partner with our customers and improve media productivity throughout the year. Key accountabilities of this role are:Retail Media Marketplace Maturity & Platform Best Practice – Responsible for defining, codifying and educating internal stakeholders on Retail Media platform capabilities, platform maturity, and retail media best practices & innovation by working closely with our external media agency.

Thought Leadership & Industry Trends – Be an expert in retail media industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies internally and externally. Bring forward new ways of working, identification of external partners or technologies that can accelerate our retailer go-to-market strategies.

Retail Media Platform Partnership Management – Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external retail media partners, agencies, and vendors (existing & emerging).

Retail Media JBPs – Play a lead role in the development of Retail Media JBP strategy, steward execution, and track value with partners like Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Roundel, KPM, etc. Partner with each Customer team to drive outcome-based QBRs to ensure K-C is on-track to achieve anticipated media performance and value realization.

Retail Media Strategy – Collaborate with internal & agency teams to define target audiences and media channels specific to retail environments (both onsite and offsite).

Retail Media Budgeting & Sufficiency – Responsible for building an integrated media budget recommendation – outlining benefits/trade-offs of the total media budget across “national” & “retail” opportunities through strong collaborations with the Enterprise Media Lead, Insights & Analytics, and our media agency of record. Collaborate with brand and Omni-teams to create data-backed inputs for AOP planning.

Performance & Reporting – Own relationship with internal/external stakeholders like Insights & Analytics, Retail Media Strategy Leads, and our media agency of record to analyze trends in retail media campaign performance, capture & scale meta learning, and drive in-market experimentation to improve the performance of our retail media investments.

Content & Connections Strategy – Responsible for refining/improving the integration of our national + retail media strategies into Content & Connections Planning by collaborating with our Marketing Operations, Audience & Data Strategy, and Enterprise Media Investment & Partnership leaders.

Deep expertise and understanding of search and display with a command of the nuances across retailer platforms.

Experience working with both traditional and retail media channels. Familiarity with planning process and ability to integrate national & retail media strategy & execution across channels like social, video, search, influencer, etc.

Proven ability to collaborate and influence in a cross-functional model inclusive of media, creative, procurement, finance, and other relevant stakeholders.

Outstanding communication skills, particularly the ability to make complicated subjects and capabilities accessible, understandable, and actionable.

A data-based storyteller that can break down complex media information and concepts into easy to understand and engaging formats.

A simplifier with a bias towards documentation & action. An out-of-the-box thinker, that understands the value of making progress over delivering perfection, willing to collaborate with critical stakeholders to refine as they go.

Preferred Qualifications:Hands-to-keys experience in digital media buying platforms across search, social, display, and video in Retail Media Platforms (Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Roundel, KPM).

Strong knowledge and understanding of audience and data strategy – particularly the value of retailer data in brand strategies.

Comfortable working in “white space” to document media foundations and create standards for new capability & innovation.
