Job Title: As the Communications Manager, your primary goal is to distill complex and technical information into clear, conversational language that engages and motivates stakeholders. You will be responsible for creating, curating, and editing content that supports strategic communication initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Communication Support: Collaborate with Communication Consultants and Relationship Managers to develop solutions that align with plan sponsors’ communication strategies and enhance participant experiences. Resource Optimization: Advise business partners on maximizing resources to achieve communication goals, utilizing and improving existing content when possible. Content Management: Oversee the end-to-end content development process, including creative execution, compliance approvals, and distribution through various channels such as web, direct mail, email, presentations, and digital signage. Ensure timely delivery across all platforms. Core Skills: Editorial expertise Strong writing and communication skills Public relations and content development Project planning and execution Additional Skills: Marketing Market Leader Newsletter Responsibilities (40 hours/week): Newsletter Lead (50-70% of time): Act as the lead writer and editor for the monthly Market Leader newsletter. Collaborate with Enterprise Communication liaisons and the Market Leader’s coordination team to craft a tailored newsletter that integrates enterprise news and market-specific content. The content may be newly created or adapted to fit the leader’s voice and objectives. Content Alignment: Ensure newsletter content aligns with the overall Enterprise Communication strategy, mixing enterprise-wide updates with market-specific insights. Editorial Planning: Set up regular editorial planning and content brainstorming sessions. Maintain a content calendar and ensure all materials adhere to the Edward Jones firm style guide (training on Axios SmartBrevity will be provided). Newsletter Execution: Format, publish, and assess the newsletter using the internal platform (Amplify), adjusting content based on readership metrics and feedback. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP): Develop and maintain SOPs for newsletter creation and best practices for potential scaling. Ad Hoc Writing and Content Creation (30-50% of time): Enterprise Communications: While the Market Leader newsletter is in its pilot stage, support broader enterprise communication efforts by developing additional content as needed. Adaptability: Adjust workload and responsibilities as the newsletter pilot scales and efficiencies are realized over time. Required Qualifications: 10 years of experience in news-style writing and editing (submission of 3-5 samples required) Exceptional organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail Ability to manage competing priorities while adhering to the overall communication strategy Experience in simplifying complex topics into jargon-free, relatable language
