The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) in Logan, UT is seeking a self-motivated individual to produce detailed solid models and production drawings of parts and assemblies using design processes found in the aerospace and defense industry.
SDL supports a variety of missions, including NASA's vision to reveal the unknown for the benefit of humankind and the Department of Defense's aim to protect our nation on the ground, in the air, and in space. Our sensors, satellites, software systems, and science and engineering play an essential role in some important missions you've heard of, and others that you haven't. Key Responsibilities:Performs detailed CAD design for space hardware and ground support equipmentGenerates fabrication and assembly drawings, including tolerancingCollaborates with engineering team to meet schedule, cost, and design requirementsRequired Qualifications:
8 years professional experience with 3D Solid Modeling Computer Aided Design (CAD) softwareAssociates degreeApplied math skills and ability to use analytical formulasStrong organizational and communication skillsMust be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US personPreferred Qualifications:
BS degree in relevant field and 5 years of experience with 3D CAD softwareProficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and system level tolerance analysisExperience designing space structures, optical elements, bonded structures, or composite structures for cryogenic/vacuum environmentsCable harness routingKnowledge of manufacturing processes, fixturing, and toolingFamiliarity with surface treatments and finishesExperience with part inspectionAt SDL, we take pride in and highly value our employees.
