What you'll be doing…The Communications Manager position will be part of the Business Markets Marketing & Sales Enablement team and will be responsible for conceptualizing and execution of internal communications initiatives (product/service/promo launches, as well as other general field need to know) for the Verizon Business Markets organization.

The role requires strong message development and discipline, creative idea generation with a focus on project management and execution, and integrated communications tactics such as graphic design, storyboarding, copywriting, shooting & editing of videos, and assisting with webcast events. Core to this role is the ability to work collaboratively and creatively in service of the R2B, B2B, I2B, and V2B sales channels, while maintaining alignment and connection to Verizon’s priorities.

Specifically, this multidimensional position requires extensive engagement and collaboration with key company stakeholders (marketing, finance, operations, indirect, BGCO, communications team colleagues, etc.) to gather data, feedback, and other inputs in order to execute on the communications being delivered to the field.

This position requires keen communications intuition, stellar writing and interpersonal skills, strong executive presence, a team-player approach, and ability to connect dots across all areas of the business.

Specific responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

Serving as a key contributor and member of the Business Markets organization and overall VBG Marketing & Sales Enablement communications teams.

Serving as a communications expert with proven storytelling strategies and a history of innovative campaigns across traditional, internal and social media.

Aligning with corporate strategies and messaging.

Driving the strategy and execution of communication messages and tools, which includes project planning, collecting field feedback, deploying, measuring, and evaluating communication campaigns.

Sharing information with employees in creative, simple, digestible ways.

Interfacing regularly with internal groups, including Social, Marketing, Sponsorships, Employee Communications, Network, Consumer, and Media groups; as well as business product managers to execute on communications strategy, drive program narrative, garner visibility and increase sales.

Reporting out regularly on employee engagement and communication metrics.

What we're looking for…The ideal candidate will be a communications professional who has the ability to navigate strategically and independently throughout a large organization with a focus on measurable program success, including increasing awareness to the field and driving the sales funnel on behalf of the Business Market organization. In addition, the candidate is an expert in graphic design, storyboarding, copywriting, shooting & editing of videos, and website design.

You'll need to have:

Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Four or more years of creative experience including graphic design and video (ie. Adobe Creative Cloud Applications: Photoshop/InDesign, Cloud, Stock, and Premiere Pro).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.

Experience bringing new products/solutions to market via innovative campaigns.

Proven ability to understand complex business issues and how they impact the bottom line and develop strategic public relations/marketing/communications programs with measurable results.

Experience leading complex initiatives by working in a tightly integrated manner across business units and partner organizations.

Excellent communication skills both in spoken and written word with a passion for making news and driving engagement.

Experience managing people.

Stellar organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities to successful completion.

Strong interpersonal communication skills. Capable of building successful relationships with internal stakeholders, including those at the executive level.

Sound judgment and a high degree of professionalism, maturity and confidentiality.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $94,000.00 and $191,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
