We are seeking a motivated and experienced part-time

Grant Writer

to join our growing team. Chileda's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavior challenges. Chileda's goal is to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills, through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. Chileda's population includes children and young adults with special needs including Autism, Attachment Challenges, related developmental delays, and intensive behavioral needs.This position offers a flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely or hybrid from one of our Wisconsin campuses. The Grant Writer will be a key player in Chileda's mission, and is responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding to support Chileda's programming. The ideal candidate would have a proven track record of securing grants, strong writing skills, and a solid understanding of the non-profit sector.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

A minimum of 6 months experience in grant writing, with a successful track record in securing funding.

Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.

Strong research skills to identify and analyze potential funding sources.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Familiarity with the non-profit sector and understanding of funder's requirements and priorities.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY:

This is a part-time position working 20-25 hours per week. We offer flexible hours, with the option to work remotely or hybrid (during business hours) at one of our Wisconsin campuses. This schedule would be perfect for someone who is looking to make a difference while managing their own time.

JOB DUTIES:

Research and identify grant opportunities that align with Chileda's mission, vision, and programs.

Prepare and submit well-researched, compelling grant proposals and applications.

Collaborate effectively with Chileda leadership and subject matter experts to gather information required for proposals.

Develop and maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, ensuring timely submissions.

Manage post-submission follow-ups, including reporting on grant progress and outcomes.

Stay updated on trends in grant-making and funding opportunities in the non-profit sector.

Maintain detailed records of past proposals, submissions, and outcomes for internal tracking.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the Job Duties of this position. The physical demands of this role are minimum, as it is a fully remote, desk-based role. The Grant Writer will spend extended periods of time at a computer writing, researching, and communicating via email and via virtual meetings. Candidates must have the ability to sit for a prolonged period of time, focus on detailed work, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This position allows the flexibility to work remotely or hybrid at one of our Wisconsin campuses. Job tasks will be completed at a desk with minimal, if any, interaction with Chileda students or clients. Communication will be primarily through virtual meetings, email, and collaboration tools to ensure a seamless remote work experience. This position will be issued a Chileda laptop and equipment necessary to do the main functions of the role.
