This position will require domestic and international travel to a variety of locations for hands-on work with clients. Examples of projects that the Planning Associate will support are: Transportation Plans, Area Development Plans, Strategic Execution Plans, Building and Site Conceptual Designs, and facility condition assessments.Key ResponsibilitiesPossesses knowledge of planning principles, best practices, & techniques of planning.Utilizes written and graphic skills for developing and presenting planning reports and projects.Able to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams.Serves as a facilitator during workshops.Performs a variety of tasks related to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of a variety of quantitative and qualitative data to prepare reports and maps.Conducts field evaluations and assessments.Assists the project manager and Senior Planner with team leadership and project execution.Researches requirements and standards.RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's or Master's Degree Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field of study.Experience: Zero (0) to five (5) years' job-related experience.Licensure/Certification: Ability to pursue AICP or RLA (Preferred)Preferred QualificationsMust possess strong oral & written communication skills and have strong organizational & time management skills.Must be able to work both independently and as part of a project team.Must be proficient in public speaking, creating presentations, and delegation.Experience developing rough order of magnitude or parametric cost estimates is preferredEEO StatementLarson Design Group, Inc. is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO) that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
