Development & Marketing Assistant

What You Will Do to Change Lives

As the Development & Marketing Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the President/CEO and the Resource Development Department, by providing high-quality and efficient administrative support. This role will handle all external and internal communications, including correspondence, social media, and event-related needs. This role requires a blend of creativity, organizational skills, and a passion for making a difference. The Development & Marketing Assistant is also responsible for engaging with donors and supporting event planning.

FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN FORGIVENESSEssential Duties and Responsibilities:

Produces various types of correspondence, both paper and electronic, including letters, newsletters, meeting minutes, contracts, presentations, and other documents including the drafting of content when requested, assuring excellent grammar, proofreading, and expert use of word processing software to produce professional level formatting and appearance.Completes donor acknowledgment letters and manages the acknowledgment process.Develops expertise in the donor database system, Blackbaud RENXT, by pursuing online training tracks.Maintains RENXT data entry and list management, coordinates with VOA National regarding support for RENXT.Maintains and updates, records, manuals, spreadsheets, databases, and reports as assigned, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the information.Manages all mailing projects (invitations, thank you cards, holiday cards, year-end letters, sponsorship letters, etc. .......) including bulk mail preparation and zip code sort.Assists in the planning and logistics of large fundraising events ensuring a high level of donor experience and engagement.Provides support to the Resource Development Dept. Director and CEO.Serves as a back-up to the receptionist desk 4-5 hours per month and as needed.This job is office-based but may require up to 10% travel.Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

Excellent coordination and organizational skills, with an ability to think proactively.Self-motivated, ability to prioritize work, and adapt to competing demands.Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, good judgment, and solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with others.Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite.Education & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or related degree, or an equivalent combination of education and proven work experience.1+ years of experience in a development or fundraising role, along with donor administration and event support.1+ years of experience in an administrative support role.
