Penn State's College of Information Sciences and Technology

(IST) is seeking a

Marketing and Communications Specialist

to manage the college's digital and multimedia content strategies. Specifically, this position will work closely with staff, faculty, students, and alumni to advance the college's goals through four main channels:

Social Media:

Manage all aspects of the college's social media platforms, including creating campaigns, maintaining a content calendar, engaging audiences, and responding to inquiries.Website Management:

Oversee all front-end priorities and content management needs for the college's public-facing website. This includes ensuring that the site maintains a consistent visual identity and meets University brand guidelines.Email:

Lead the college's email strategies by producing e-newsletters, campaigns, and one-off communications in support of strategic initiatives. This includes designing templates, drafting content, and supporting list management.Photography/Videography:

Support content needs by leading photography and videography projects. This includes capturing photos/videos for events, promotional materials, and news stories.Across each of these areas, the specialist will gather and analyze metrics to make informed decisions about tactics and strategies. The specialist will also contribute content to news and feature stories, as well as promotional items, such as fact sheets, newsletters, and digital signage. This is a highly collaborative position that requires regular on-site coverage of events and programs.

This position works daily with IST faculty, staff, and leadership and communicates regularly with alumni, students, and donors. As such, the successful candidate must have a keen ability to work with diverse stakeholders and be able to prioritize multiple projects.

This is a hybrid position that combines remote and regular on-campus working.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other required qualifications include:

Possesses expertise with social media platforms and management tools (e.g., Hootsuite), content creation platforms (e.g., Canva), and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).Has experience in web and email content management systems (e.g., Constant Contact).Is comfortable using a DSLR to capture photos and video.Is creative and forward-thinking as a content creator.Can translate strategic goals and initiatives into compelling content across multiple formats.Possesses excellent judgment and exacting attention to detail.Is proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
