Responsibilities
Designs and specifies project appropriate engineering requirementsPrepares engineering documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraintsSets up and manages complex Revit modelsPerforms Revit modeling and detailingParticipate in BIM best practice standards developmentConducts site investigation and observationsPerforms cross-discipline discussions and coordination of work for system clash avoidanceParticipates with performing construction contract administration. Responsibilities could include: Review of shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFI's, solving construction issues, performing site visits to assess general conformance with design concept, incorporating agreed upon changes to contract documentsMentor and encourage the development of junior staffAttends client meetings and communicates with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project developmentTravel for project- related activities may be requiredQualifications
10+ years experience, large project experienceAssociates Degree from Technical College or 4-year non-engineering degreeGeneral Characteristics
Demonstrated practical knowledge of codes and related industry standardsProduction experience preparing deliverable drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD requiredDemonstrated knowledge and proficiency using industry standard calculation software requiredSelf-motivated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skillsAbility to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
