Buildings sector (Science/Technology & Healthcare projects) , based in

San Diego, California

What a day at EXP has in store for youRevit or CAD proficient with working in 3D modelsPrepare HVAC one-line diagramsPrepare/ Review HVAC calculations for loadsThorough knowledge of Mechanical and energy codesEdit specifications to reflect the project requirementsDevelop equipment room sizes during SD and DD phasesSelect and schedule equipmentMeet with vendors to determine specification requirements for applicationCoordinates with other disciplines (mepfp, arch, struct, etc)Respond to RFI's for the project, and accurately review submittalsSolve installation problemsApply risk management procedures daily to minimize exp's and client's exposure to problemsUnderstand MEP/FP work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work planUnderstand proper scope of MEP/FP SD, DD, CD level documents - and deliver appropriate documentationWork with project coordinator and Clients to meet scheduled project milestones of multiple projectsManage and deliver revisions (ASI's, etc) and sketches according to proper numbering conventionEdit and develop scope of work narratives (SD narrative, basis of design, etc)Market Sector - Understands specific engineering requirements for applications within a market sectorUnderstand and properly provide existing exp details relevant to projectsBe able to direct and mentor Designer level staff on all of their responsibilities on a daily basisPerform at a 'responsible charge' level; meeting exp's design and quality levelsQA/QC reviews of all calculations by designers, and provide guidance and mentoringDetermine content of drawings and specs for Designers in order to meet the scope of workDevelop and monitor work plans in conjunction with other Project ManagersReview code related items with Designers, and ensure complianceManage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hoursWrite studies and reports for systems on projectsWrites sequences of operations for AHU's, CHW and HW systemsUnderstands and applies concepts of CHW, HW, WSHP, variable & constant flow systemsAir side systems- CV, VAV, coil selection, fan selectionHydronic Systems-hot, chilled condenser, steamThorough understanding of psychometrics and be able to apply to every projectAdvanced equipment selection and analysis - chillers, boilers, air terminals, cooling towers, air valves, heap filters, DX equipment, and water source heat pumpsThorough understanding of total energy conceptsFluent in energy software applicationsFluent in developing life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) for project systemsWhat your experience looks like

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural EngineeringCandidate should have an engineering degree in the field of mechanical engineering with 0-1 years of building HVAC design experienceExperience designing and marketing in science and technology preferred

The pay range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
