Fox News is hiring a Capitol Hill Producer. We are looking for a tenacious newsgatherer to join our Capitol Hill team in the Washington D.C. Bureau. This proactive, passionate, and self-motivated individual will work with our reporters and producers to break news and advance the network’s Congressional coverage.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop unique sources that allow you the opportunity to break news and stay ahead of the competitionProvide editorial and logistical guidance to drive our Capitol Hill coverageWork closely with Fox News correspondents and producers across all platformsHelp move stories forward by getting story scoops from lawmakers and having them react to news developmentsPitch compelling, enterprise stories for television and digital platformsTrack the latest developments in the various Congressional stories, reach out to contacts, and attend press conferences and eventsPrioritize the events that warrant coverage, taking into consideration available resources and the level of interest in the storyWHAT YOU WILL NEEDBachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience5+ years of political reporting in a broadcast, print, or digital work environmentStrong contacts on Capitol Hill, the White House, and federal agenciesExceptional editorial judgment and intricate knowledge of Capitol Hill, national, and international politicsStrong communication and writing skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize daily, especially in breaking news situationsProficiency in shooting and digitally transmitting videoKnowledge of the D.C. areaFamiliarity with the various D.C. government agenciesAbility to be a self-starter who can work independently, as well as a team playerWillingness to work weekends, overnights, early mornings, and late shiftsFlexibility with last-minute schedule changesFamiliarity with iNews, Outlook, and Dalet a plusPursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $84,500.00-118,500.00 annually for Washington, D.C. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
