Position Summary:

This strategic role serves as a subject matter expert in assigned functional areas, advising the Executive Leadership Team, senior leaders and key stakeholders on omnichannel communications plans that support business objectives. Responsible for supervising other Communications Business Partners’ strategic goals and objectives and coaching their success.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Leads a team of Communication Business Partners, providing guidance, designing and overseeing the execution of strategic business objectives.

Provides coaching and support to ensure successful delivery of business objectives.

Plans, executes and measures results of internal communications campaigns, acting as project manager and focusing on nimbly managing effective stakeholder relations.

Serves as strategic communications advisor to and advocate for the Executive Leadership Team, senior leaders and other internal business partners to develop strategic messaging and create effective communications plans using SpartanNash's communication platforms, including SpartanNash Go; email, including SpartanNash Flash and Communications Center; Green Galleries and more.

Collaborates with a variety of internal business partners and departments throughout SpartanNash on the development and delivery of content, acting as a consultant and thought leader to develop, deploy and measure effective messaging across an omni-channel environment.

Creates, manages and executes on a robust editorial calendar.

Writes communications with autonomy – including routine and non-routine messages, reports, and presentation materials – in accordance with our company brand and tone and to the highest editorial accuracy.

Proactively seeks and identifies storytelling opportunities that inform and engage internal audiences and drive business results.

Provides ongoing support of critical employee communication tools by collaborating with various business partners in the development and maintenance of all types of content and tools including the intranet, social tools, email boxes and distributions, digital signage, corporate mobile apps and other platforms and tools.

Leads information gathering, content drafting and approval, and graphic design support.

Helps the business deploy messages so they reach the right audience in the right channel at the right time.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Bachelor’s Degree (required) in Communication, Journalism, English, Business Administration or related field.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate communications required.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory/people management role required.

Works well independently and in group settings, proactively anticipating business needs and deploying creative solutions.

Strong writing, proofing, editing, and word processing skills.

Proven ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure situations and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Self-directed, highly motivated, creative and attentive to detail.

Skilled in managing a wide range of activities and multiple projects under tight deadlines and limited supervision.

Ability to effectively use office automation/communication software and tools currently used in the office environment, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, task management software, and Office 365.

Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, an email platform such as ContactMonkey, and Adobe Photoshop preferred.
