Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the conceptual and detailed design of transportation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
Develop and review engineering and site development engineering drawings, models, and specifications using Civil3D and/or MicroStation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design solutions across various engineering disciplines.
Manage junior staff to produce engineering design drawings with minimum guidance from engineering teams for fundamental design concepts.
Stay up to date with industry standards with Civil3D and/or MicroStation to ensure that the latest and best practices are being used for the firm.
Manage the firm’s CAD standards to ensure consistency for all engineering services.
Train newer junior staff members regarding the use of Civil3D and/or MicroStation.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering design, with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
Core Competencies
Expertise in engineering design principles, techniques, and industry standards.
Proficiency in relevant Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
Ability to manage and coordinate multiple design projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective design solutions.
Precision in reviewing and developing design documentation.
Commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal errors.
Experience in leading design teams and providing guidance to junior designers.
Ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve project goals.
Strong understanding of client needs and the ability to deliver design solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
Willingness to stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Openness to learning new skills and adopting new tools or methodologies.
Experience in conducting design reviews and implementing quality control measures.
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with other departments and external partners.
Flexibility in responding to changing project requirements and priorities.
Ability to handle unexpected challenges and adjust designs as necessary.
