Summary
Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed documentation, sketches, notes or otherwise. Researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems primarily related to vacuum heat-treating equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.Makes any adjustments or changes necessary or desired.Creates drawings and bills of material related to each job or projects. Must support manufacturing on the floor on any problem related to the various jobs and/or projectsDesigns products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.Draws finished designs from sketches.Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.Maintain all documentation related to each project ensuring compliance with Ipsen and ISO standard procedures (checklists, engineering release forms, etc.).Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret sales orders, technical product requirements, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directorsMinimum 2 years of experience using CAD Preferably utilizing Autodesk Products (Inventor, AutoCAD and Vault), word processing, spreadsheets, and must have ability to interface with resident business system (Syteline).Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.May be required to travel to other Ipsen locations and/or customer locations during preorder, order execution, systems installation, troubleshooting or other.Good communication skills are required in a team-oriented, entrepreneurial environment. Projects demand balancing urgency with sensitivity to customer needs and budget implications.Education and Experience
Two-year technical degree (A.S.) from a Junior College or University required.2+ years related experience, and/or training.
