As our Director of Marketing, you will…
Work closely with Principals to develop strategic marketing initiatives, monitor key markets and emerging trends, and support firm goals utilizing a plethora of marketing tools. As the director you will orchestrate marketing initiatives with an eye to establishing Best Practices in marketing communications.
Lead a wide range of marketing activities, including detailed market research and intelligence gathering to identify client decision-makers and define client needs; strategy development for pursuit of new work.
Facilitate marketing planning efforts in each office.
Manage and mentor marketing, communications, and graphic design staff by coaching and training them in marketing and business development efforts.
In concert with Principals, participate in strategic planning, sharing of project pursuits, and coordination with various offices to identify and secure opportunities to influence through thoughtful design.
Identify, pursue, and develop DAG relationships with marketing professionals representing our key partner firms, our consultants, and contractors.
Perform research and guide the screening of project opportunities with Principals, to ensure that clients and projects being pursued are consistent with the firm’s values, vision, and goals; manage communications and facilitate timely go/no-go decision-making, all the while gathering insights to inform marketing strategies and business development efforts.
Co-Direct with Principals the project-specific pursuit efforts across the firm, including management of the preparation of proposals that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each client, public and private; orchestration of interviews, including both written and graphic composition; take a lead role in some, a coordinating role in others, and an oversight quality control role in others; also provide other types of support efforts as may be required.
Ensure CRM goals are met; working with Principals and your Communications team to strategize the communications to be shared through our CRM contacts.
Be a visible and active DAG representative at industry events and conferences, for the purposes of conducting market sector and competitor research.
With firm leadership, assist in strategizing our participation in industry events and public speaking engagements, supporting key Architectural staff in these endeavors with collateral, writing, or other marketing tools as appropriate.
Formulate the annual marketing plan and marketing budget with the Managing Partner and Marketing Principal; monitor both plan and budget for the firm, providing periodic and annual updates.
Acquire working knowledge of the firm’s entire portfolio, both historical and current.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
Minimum of 7-10 years of professional services marketing experience, preferably in the A/E/C industry. Industry knowledge including an understanding of our market sectors, localities, competitive landscape, and industry trends will be a plus.
Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing and communications strategies.
At least three years of management experience with a proven track-record of growing and mentoring staff. Must have the ability to motivate and manage teams, set clear goals and expectations, and provide guidance and direction to team members.
Creative thinker with strong leadership, strategic, problem-solving, and management skills; discrete and highly professional.
Positive personality that is supportive; able to establish rapport, build relationships—internally and externally; very comfortable in both inside and outside roles; familiarity with our geographic markets.
Experience in, and appreciation of, the architectural design community and the design profession; appreciation of DAG’s design values.
Relentless attention to detail and organization.
Technological savvy; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and database programs, such as Cosential/Unanet and OpenAsset.
Able to travel to other DAG offices and/or client project locations as needed.
Base Salary Range:
Starts at $120,000 annually, and may increase with experience.
