Are creation of visualization tools and displays for large datasets your thing? Working on a lightweight team, and truly owning (wall-to-wall) the solutions to problems? How about working remotely, from wherever it is that you call home? And perhaps the icing on the cake, what if your efforts directly supported satellite operations and ultimately your nations defense?Axient is seeking a Front-End Developer to develop and truly own web development for a state-of-the-art ground system (Maven) that is currently being built for the United States Space Force in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this role,
you
will be the expert and
you
will decide and design your own solution to achieve the directed outcomes. This may include (but is certainly not limited to) the use of Angular, React, D3.js, Chart.js, and other HTML5 and Javascript technologies. You will also be in direct contact with the end users of your creations, and be expected to receive feedback and process it for positive outcomes.While you may be working remotely or onsite, you will be in close contact with engineers and scientists who are actively building and testing a Space Force satellite on the ground in Albuquerque that is currently being prepared for launch into orbit. You will report directly to the chief architect of Maven (a fellow contractor) and work with a larger blended team of military, civil servant, and contractor personnel.What you will do...:Job DutiesBuild awesome web experiences for use by satellite engineers, operators, and leadershipCraft web applications for real-time display of important subsets of satellite data, interfacing with various data sources across a networkCreate tools to visualize extremely large (historical) datasets, interfacing with existing databases and helping to design new onesWork with satellite engineers to create responsive web-based equivalents of their existing (client-run, C++/various scripting) tools that perform a variety of tasks, and help make them even better
Skills you will need...:Education and Experience:B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related fields4+ years in developing interactive, and well-performing user interfaces using one (or multiple) of industry standard and accepted frameworksExpertise and an interest in keeping up to date in the latest web technologies (e.g. Javascript, Angular, React, WebSockets, HTML5, CSS3)Experience strongly preferred with charting libraries like D3.js or Chart.js, and a demonstrated ability to quickly turn a dataset into an attractive plotExperience with source control management tools, like git or Subversion
