POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Project Management & Design at Positive Energy Solar is responsible for leading the Residential Project Management and Design teams, and overseeing solar projects in accordance with our Quality Deployment Process. This position entails setting revenue objectives, standardizing operational processes, and developing performance metrics aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing schedule variations. The Director will also provide training on NetSuite and other relevant management systems, facilitate strong cross-functional collaboration, and effectively manage project scope, schedules, costs, and adjustments.

This position reports to the Director of Operations and is a full-time, salaried position.

The role can be performed either in our Santa Fe or Albuquerque office.

Regular travel between offices is required, and mileage reimbursement is offered.

Key responsibilities include oversight of project management, design, and permitting processes in two separate regions (Santa Fe and Albuquerque), oversign of subcontractor management, ensuring accurate project documentation, and maintaining proactive communication with clients. Furthermore, the Director will collaborate across the organization to drive ongoing improvements in project quality, efficiency, and profitability, while upholding the company’s commitment to excellence and fostering a positive work environment.

KEY MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Set revenue goals, coordinate resources, and ensure goals are met.

Lead Project Management and Design Teams in standardizing processes, improving efficiency, and minimizing risk company-wide.

Review the quarterly backlog report for accuracy and ensure that revenue goals are met.

Develop and track metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.

Responsible for staffing of Project Management and Design departments, including hiring, corrective action, termination, and employee development.

Provide training to fully utilize NetSuite and other systems, enhancing communication and results.

Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure safe, profitable, and high-quality project completion.

Manage project scope, schedule, costs, and changes using best practices.

Influence and lead in a matrix environment to ensure successful project delivery.

Oversee project processes from start to finish, including design review, permitting, inspections, and scheduling.

Assist in coordination of material orders and deliveries in collaboration with Purchasing & Warehouse departments.

Conduct regular project status meetings and maintain accurate documentation.

Enhance project deployment processes to boost quality and efficiency.

Oversee coordination with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Ensure Small Teams, scheduling, development, and pre-construction meetings are scheduled and effective.

Ensure complete and accurate job documentation and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must have demonstrated skills and qualifications in the following areas:

Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Demonstrated experience in successfully managing a team of a minimum of 10 staff members is required.

Minimum of 3-5 years in a senior management role with the ability to lead diverse teams and drive business results.

Demonstrated experience in concurrently managing at least two teams is strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, project management, construction management, or related field.

Must possess experience managing construction or related projects.

Experience with construction contracts and managing subcontractors and general construction understanding, i.e., ability to read and understand plans and specs.

Strong background in defining key project metrics for project status tracking and communication.

Must possess or have the ability to obtain an understanding of solar PV systems

Strong computer skills and fluent navigation of multiple software programs, including Microsoft 365 Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Pro, Nitro Pro, and NetSuite.

Certified PMP preferred

Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, & have ability to multi-task and set priorities.

Excellent customer service skills, clear communication and strong coordination skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.

Ability to challenge and professionally debate issues of importance to the organization.

Have a personal vehicle to be used for work as needed, and the ability to legally and safely operate motor vehicles.

Able to sit or stand at a desk for up to 8 hours per day, ability to climb ladders, walk on roofs, walk on uneven ground, crouch and bend throughout the day, and carry 40 pounds.
