Media Relations Manager
who has extensive experience developing, directing, and executing earned and digital media relations strategies and tactics.
Strong candidates will have demonstrated acumen and leadership skills in: (1) supporting federal, state and/or commercial clients with planning and successfully executing campaigns and communications activities; (2) effectively managing team members, taskings and high-quality deliverables; and (3) engaging with national, regional, local and trade press. Experience supporting government public affairs, communications, or external affairs offices is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities:
Provide senior level counsel to multiple clients across the public health, energy, environmental, climate, and other sectors.
Manage and deliver high-quality deliverables in a hybrid work environment.
Oversee and mentor multiple communications specialists.
Foster relationships with reporters and journalists across various beats and sectors.
Serve as an experienced member of ICF’s Media Relations Practice.
Delegate and oversee assignments in coordination with account/project managers.
Support the development of marketing and communications strategies and plans for key programs and initiatives.
Identify new business opportunities within federal government and state/local agencies.
Contribute to new business pursuits.
Qualifications:
BS or BA.
Minimum of eight (8) years of demonstrated experience in:
Managing projects as a consultant to public and/or commercial sector clients or as a government employee.
Serving in a managerial role.
Leading implementation of strategic communications activities.
Working collaboratively with clients, contractors for other firms, and/or project team members.
Knowledge of advanced media relations principles and strategies, client relations, and public relations.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Excellent communication skills, especially written.
Strong project management, leadership, and presentation skills.
Strong planning, research, and organizational abilities.
Consultancy, corporate or government agency experience preferred.
Self-starter, with the ability to independently manage and delegate tasks and handle multiple priorities.
Experience mentoring and/or supervising communications staff.
Job Location(s):
Open to remote within the US. Preferred location in either ICF’s Reston, VA or Rockville, MD office in a hybrid telework arrangement.

Pay Range:
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $84,533.00 - $143,706.00
