Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced
Technical Director / Project Manager
with a strong background in audio-visual production for live events. The ideal candidate is client-focused, technically proficient, and excels in managing both the technical and operational aspects of projects. You will be responsible for leading AV projects from concept to execution, ensuring they meet client needs, are delivered on time, and exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage AV projects, from initial planning to execution and post-event evaluation
Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, provide expert advice, and ensure their satisfaction throughout the project
Oversee technical setups, including lighting, sound, video, and staging for live events
Manage and direct on-site technical crews, ensuring smooth operation and flawless event delivery
Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
Troubleshoot technical issues during live events and ensure quick, effective solutions
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and other industry partners
Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored after events
Conduct post-event reviews to identify successes and areas for improvement
Qualifications:
Proven experience in live events, technical direction, or AV project management
In-depth knowledge of AV equipment, including lighting, sound, video, and staging
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and motivate technical crews
Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick, informed decisions
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in AV software and control systems is a plus
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
