The Senior Design Manager, Visual Merchandising & Store Design (VM/SD) will play a critical role in the design development, management and global execution of in-store architecture and visual merchandising displays across multiple retail formats. Will report to and work directly with the Design Director VM/SD and work in tandem with regional partners and external vendors to ensure store designs and strategic merchandising initiatives are executed on time, on budget and uphold the Hourglass aesthetic. This position will be an integral team member for all new store design projects and will manage the process for design conceptualization, review and approvals with the Design Director VM/SD, regional partners, external vendors and consultants. Will also develop visual merchandising designs for luxury store environments and ensure seamless integration of product display concepts within the architectural footprint. As we continue to expand, the Senior Design Manager will have an integral role in establishing and enforcing global design guidelines for in-store architecture, merchandising displays, pop ups and events. WHAT YOU DO:Responsible for conceptual design, development, project reviews, quality and design control, scheduling and project reporting. Must have the ability to develop design concepts within the Hourglass brand aesthetic and manage the design and finish component of each project.Receive and manage requests for new store design projects, pop ups, events and specialty merchandising initiatives. Review project briefs to ensure retailer guidelines, budgets, and commercial objectives are clear. Work closely with cross functional teams and regional partners as needed to obtain and clarify critical information.Manage weekly reporting on status of projects.Create 3D renderings of store design proposals for review and approval with Design Director VM/SD. Iterate design options as required to meet project objectives and planned budgets.Collaborate closely with Design Director VM/SD on new, strategic store design and merchandising initiatives and 3D render concepts for presentation to Founder.Develop design turnover drawings and clearly communicate design intent to regional partners and external vendors.Review vendor technical drawings, construction documents and manage the prototype approval process for final production sign-off. Must be familiar with and capable of redlining technical drawings and DD sets from a variety of internal and external global teams.Own the review and approval process for projects designed locally by regions and external partners. Responsible for communication and project management to ensure concepts are approved by Design Director VM/SD and are consistent with brand standards from preliminary submission to final shop drawings and execution.Present and clarify complex aspects of store design to regional partners with the goal of shared understanding and solid alignment. Communicate concisely to review issues and design solutions with regional teams and external vendors.Ensure visual lightbox requirements and artwork submission dates for new store openings are clearly communicated for on-time delivery.Have a clear understanding of global project budgets and ensure designs fit within cost parameters. Work closely with regional partners and vendors to value engineer designs when needed.Work with Design Director to establish store design formats & pricing tiers to support global expansion.In partnership with Design Director, evaluate success of store designs and new merchandising displays, and define future design and merchandising initiatives to support evolving needs of the brand.Organize global standard fixture details, material specifications and technical documents for sharing across regions and vendors. Help to establish and enforce global brand standards guidelines for store design, specialty displays, events and pop ups.Develop strategic merchandising concepts and seasonal displays for luxury SIS and FSS environments. Ensure seamless and cohesive approach to visual merchandising initiatives within the store design concept.Work collaboratively with global VM/SD colleagues to achieve best practices and standardization across regions. Identify opportunities to improve communication, project design, development, review and approval processes.Maintain global database of store photos, as-built drawings & 3D renderings.YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB IF:

Minimum 5 years experience in architectural Store Design and Visual Merchandising-related field (Beauty Industry a plus)Proven experience managing the design development, review, approval and execution process with internal and external stakeholders and industry trades.Must be familiar with and capable of redlining vendor technical drawings, DD sets, fixture contractor millwork drawings and construction document sets.Proven experience designing within planned budgets and developing value engineered solutions.Must be proficient in Microsoft, Sketchup, Photoshop, Powerpoint, Excel and Smartsheet.Must be proficient in 3D rendering program (V-Ray, Keyshot, Enscape, etc).Must be highly organized and have strong attention to detail.Adaptable, resourceful and forward thinking.Thrive on solving problems and looking at implementing creative solutions.Creative, positive and high-energy individual with an ability to execute.Strong Verbal and Written communication abilities.Prestige/luxury brand experience a plus.Must be able to work from Corporate Office at least 60% of the time.
The expected base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
