If so, this role may be for you!As Director, Medical Communications and Scientific Training you will be responsible for leading the development of US Oncology medical and scientific communication plans, tactics, medical educational material, and external communication tools, including digital innovation and customized US scientific medical training in alignment with the US Medical Affairs leads, and Oncology Field Medical Leadership.You will be accountable for the development of educational programs such as symposia, field medical trainings; providing medical accuracy review of materials and will liaise with cross-functional teams including Medical Information and Global Medical Affairs. Your role will work in close partnership and collaboration with internal partners including Global Medical Affairs, the US Medical Matrix Team, the Medical Information Team, and publications.This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:Develop and drive execution of US specific scientific communication plans for GSK assets, leveraging and applying Global Scientific Communication plans as appropriate, aligned with SSOs and the USMAL/Med Dir leadership.Leverage clinical publication / data dissemination plans for the creation of enduring materials and educational activities.Provide strong US voice into the development of global scientific platforms and the global content co-creation process.Develop accurate and impactful scientific deliverables including symposia, slide decks and field medical tools (e.g. infographics, interactive media), in alignment with the US medical plan.Ensure timely dissemination internally up to date scientific data including recent publications, insights, presentations, study specific information, and scientific statements, providing training when appropriate.Develop and ensure provision of training for the Field Medical teams on US scientific narratives, disease states, key GSK and external competitive data.Lead the strategic analysis and innovative design of medical curricula incorporating adult learning principles for US approved and pre-launch assets. Update curricula on an ongoing basis.Ensure the development of robust customer-segment specific scientific communication resources for Field Medical and HQ use (e.g., at congresses) in partnership with MI and Medical Directors.Ensure the development and execution of innovative tools for internal and external communication including digital/social media delivery.In collaboration with the USMAL, provide leadership in the development and execution of an omnichannel plan, if relevant for the given asset, in collaboration with Medical Analytics and Digital and Tech.Why you?Basic Qualifications:We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:PhD, PharmD, MD, or advanced science degree (Master of Science, MPH).3+ years experience within pharmaceutical or communications industry.Medical Affairs experience.Experience developing slide decks and other scientific content.Leading development and implementation of medical education material for external audiences and training material and tools for internal medical teams.Experience with medical education meetings and digital/social media delivery.Leading and working within cross-functional teams.Interpreting, analyzing, and organizing scientific data.Preferred Qualifications:If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:3+ years of oncology/hematology experience.Experience in scientific communications preferred.Experience in creating digital communication tools and platforms.Demonstrates effective communication and presentation skills.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Experience with strategic and tactical publication planning, development of abstracts, manuscripts.Knowledge of publication guidelines and practices.Ability to work with new technology and teach others.Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate to diverse audiences.Proven ability to interpret customer needs as well as negotiation and influence skills.Ability to prioritize business needs and flexibility to address them when business appropriate.Ability to cope under pressure with sometimes conflicting priorities.Ability to produce concise and simple summaries of concepts and solutions.Ability to complete complex assignments independently.Demonstrated strategic ability.Demonstrated leadership ability to work in a matrix environment with senior management.Ability to build strong business relationships across various departments.
