What We’re Looking For
The Director of Operations will work with PCGVR’s Founder and Director to build on the impactful work already being done by the organization. This exciting new role will be empowered to execute on a range of mission-critical responsibilities and take on leadership, providing opportunities for professional growth and the development of organizational capacity.
The first non-founder, senior-level employee, this individual will lead organizational development efforts while ensuring that PCGVR continues to build gun violence prevention journalism as a legitimate and respected practice area.
Location: Hybrid work environment, but this individual must live in the Greater Philadelphia area to be able to participate in in-person meetings and events.
Salary: $80,000 + Benefits
Key Job Responsibilities:
Resource Development
- Build a community of (individual) financial supporters
- Contribute to formation of stable and sustainable financial model
- Manage the newly-formed Advisory Board
Strategic Communications
- Develop a strategy for growing PCGVR’s audience, to include potential funders and gun violence prevention advocates
- Identify and tell stories that represent PCGVR’s impact across sectors – public health, journalism, and impacted communities
Strategy
- Execute on PCGVR’s current strategic plan
- Contribute to the creation of an impact measurement framework
- Seek and cultivate organizational partnerships with researchers, media professionals, and advocates
Finance
- Manage organizational finances, to include budgeting and reporting
- Manage relationship with CultureWorks, PCGVR’s fiscal sponsor
- Analyze monthly expense reports to inform financial decisions
