Job SummaryThe Dean of Libraries is a visionary and energetic leader who leads innovation and fosters growth. The Dean serves to build upon the strengths of the Ingram Library and engage the internal and external university community. This position requires an adaptive leader to nurture change and cultivate an organizational climate built on respect, service, communication, and cooperation.

ResponsibilitiesThrough visionary, inclusive, and entrepreneurial leadership, the dean will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration to:

Provide creative, collaborative and transparent leadership consistent with the mission of the university.

Create a sense of belonging and drive measurable outcomes.

Lead strategic and day-to-day planning for the library.

Advocate for and implement modern technology and outreach activities.

Ensure appropriate resources procurement and management.

Supervise personnel activities, including recruitment and professional development.

Collaborate with University Advancement in innovative fundraising initiatives.

Engage in and support community outreach initiatives.

Required Qualifications

A Master's degree in Library Science.

A progressive record of academic leadership.

Successful administrative experience in supervision of faculty.

Demonstrated experience with library resources management.

Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to promoting transparency.

Experience in working with external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in addition to a Masters degree in Library Science.

Successful history of strategic planning and resource stewardship.

Experience with technology integration in education.

Record of success in generating grant funding.

Demonstrated commitment to supporting a positive work environment.

Proposed SalarySalary commensurate with experience.
