The ideal candidate is responsible for preparation of GA Drwgs as well as detailed design drawings (2D & 3D) for various process equipment. This includes performing detailed mechanical strength calculation as well as preparation of all necessary BOM and other related documentation. Create technical specifications / purchase requisitions and evaluate corresponding bids in order to support procurement process Ensure proper and timely fabrication of steel parts at sub suppliers Cooperation and interaction with the global engineering force, utilization of applicable technical company standards and company software, i.e. CAD 2D/3D, PDM, DMS, mech. strength calculation tools, SAP and standard MS Office software. Preparation of Equipment Arrangement Drwgs for Systems as well as drafting P&ID's on the basis of process information provided by the global Project Engineering group. Maintain SGL specific technical standards and drafting standardsResponsibilities:Mechanical design of process equipment with 2D/3D CAD Systems (AutoCAD, Solid Edge) in accordance with SGL specific design standards and in accordance with order specific requirements/specificationsPreparation of mechanical strength calculations acc. Local codes (e.g. EN, ASME, CODAP, etc) for process equipmentPreparation of general assembly drawings in accordance with SGL specific drafting/design standardsPreparation of detailed design drawings including preparation of related bills of material, enter BOM into SAPApproval and release of drawings and BOM´sPreparation of technical specifications of steel parts for inquiry, perform analysis of corresponding bids, place purchase orders in cooperation/consultation with procurementCoordination and cooperation with fabrication at shop floor level in order to continuously gain feedback for improvement of equipment design (economic fabrication)Cooperation with global CAD Engineering forceInternational support of CAD Engineering projectsTechnical clarification and consulting to customer orders in direct contact with customers and component suppliers in coordination with project manager if necessary temporarily on different SGL Sites globalMaintain resource planning in allocation of the work package.Supporting the product managers in standardization of process equipmentPreparation of Equipment Layout Drwgs for systems/plantsPreparation of P&ID's on the basis of red lined P&ID draftsPreparation of electrical documentation as a support to I&C departmentInnovation and further evolution of productsQualificationsAssociate degree or University degree with two/four year college in mechanical engineering or equivalent.Expertise in mech. design of process equipmentExpertise in mech. strength calculation (local codes e.g. ASME)Experienced and enthusiastic CAD user in 2D and 3D (AutoCad / SolidEdge / SolidWorks)Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel) and some SAPFluent in English languageFocused on cost, quality, efficiency within design of equipmentExperience related to equipment fabricationPrefer to have some experience with Electrical schematics, Piping and Instrument Diagrams.Opened minded for complex design engineering challenges and changed requirements.Structured and professional working skillsAbility to work under time pressureHandling of Mechanical Design projects and production orders on scheduleStrong oral and written communications skillsGood mathematics; analytical and problem solving skills required.Comply with and support all aspects of the company´s quality management program.Ability to work well within a small teamAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formAbility to work well without close supervision
