TITLE: High School Research Intern in Agricultural Economics and Marketing
DEPARTMENT: College of Agriculture Community and the Sciences

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
A High School Research Assistant will support in established research projects within the College of Agriculture, Community, and Sciences.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Under the supervision of the Associate Research Director's research team, the High School Research Intern will contribute to established research projects. The scope of work is focused on marketing of various agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits, and seafood.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:To assist with research activities by completing assigned tasksTasks assigned to high school students will be incommensurate with their knowledge and experienceAssist with data collection, taking of surveys, and data recording
OTHER DUTIES:
Duties include assembling aquaculture systems, maintaining those systems, handling and feeding animals, harvesting animals, some laborious tasks such as carrying heavy objects, and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:Student must a minimum GPA of 2.75 out of 4.0 scaleStudent must be able to give a block of time of at least two hours twice a weekStudent must be able to provide own transportation to locationInterest in agriculture, fish farming, and sales of food products
