Our client, a menswear denim design role with a top company in NYC. Role is full time hours - five days a week with the potential to become permanent. Role is hybrid in the midtown office. Focus is on both the design and development side for denim. The Denim Designer is responsible for supporting the design & development of the global offering for all Men's Denim product categories. They will assist in the product development and collaborate with cross-functional partners on its execution. Working closely with the Denim Design Director, they will create products that align with the brand's vision, market trends, and customer preferences.
Responsibilities:Design and develop into trend right, saleable product to drive global sales of Men's Denim line.
Prepares seasonal sketches, wash targets, and trim details to support design intent
Support Fit Development: Assist in Sketch pass off, sample requests, organization and agenda's for fit sessions/ reviews
Assist the product development functions & processes: Tech Pack creation, Sketching, Seasonal Wash Development and Brief handoff
Trend Research & Brainstorming for new concept development
Support development of all Fabric and Trim Developments
Support and organize seasonal category design presentations for leadership reviews
Manages the preparation of seasonal wash development briefs
Follows up on all preproduction details: color, fabric, and trim; to ensure consistent high quality and design intent is met.Required Qualifications:Minimum 3-4 years of denim related Design and Product Development experience
Knowledge of denim wash and fabric a must
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design preferred
Must be technically skilled with advanced understanding of garment construction & denim fit requirements
Elevated understanding of all aspects of denim product development, fabric development, and denim wash development
PLM familiar- create and maintain design packages
Proficient in Photoshop, illustrator, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, and PLM systems
