Anchor/Multi-skilled Journalist

10 Tampa Bay is looking for an engaging, innovative & experienced Anchor/MSJ to join our weekend morning news team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and presentation skills with the ability to enterprise unique stories as well as cover breaking news. Strong live skills are required. The candidate will display professionalism and personality both on and off air. This position requires a strong work ethic, broad knowledge of current affairs and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. In addition, this Anchor/MSJ must develop sources, and be as comfortable in the digital world as they are in broadcasting. The candidate must operate with a high degree of journalistic ethics. A successful candidate will foster a strong sense of purpose to continuing 10 Tampa Bay's commitment to serving our community. You must be a self-starter with a great attitude and a desire to win. You must also have strong writing skills, authentic energy, and command of the content.
Responsibilities:
• You will be asked to lead, on and off camera, assisting with the show's execution and writing
• On the air you will need to confidently deliver everything from breaking news to lighter moments in a conversational style, either from the studio or live in the field, including the ability to ad-lib
• You'll be expected to contribute content on a regular basis across broadcast, digital, streaming, and social platforms
• Off camera you will become a mentor providing guidance for audience-focused story selection and writing feedback
• Exhibit a sound editorial voice and a passion for coaching quality presentation and creative storytelling
• Other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate
Requirements:
• Minimum 5-7 years news anchor/reporter experience
• The ability to write compelling copy and present engaging stories
• Proven news judgement and understanding of the tenets of professional journalism
• An understanding of current content gathering and production techniques
• Someone who truly loves this job, telling the stories of our community with authentic personality and great care
• Ability to work flexible hours, shifts and shows; early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays may be required
