Job Summary

In this new role, the Corporate Communications Manager will lead DuraServ's communication strategy and develop and implement internal and external communication plans to ensure that unified, consistent, and positive messages define and promote the corporate identity, brand, and mission. Responsible for ensuring stakeholders and team members are engaged and well-informed on the company's goals, priorities, and achievements. Delivers clear, relevant, and positive communication solutions that position DuraServ as the Employer of Choice and highlight our reputation as the most trusted sales and service provider in the industry.

Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for managing the execution of the Corporate Communications strategy which includes a focus on culture, corporate social responsibility, team member engagement, leadership visibility, brand identity, and partnership relationships through traditional and innovative modes of communication.
  2. Manages the company's messaging, delivery, and impact of our Employer Value Proposition and employment marketing strategies in all communication channels.
  3. Responsible for the design, maintenance, upgrading, content messaging, campaigns, and engagement in the various company communication platforms and channels (websites, intranet, social media accounts, career boards, etc.). Collaborates with Marketing on related work that involves product brand positioning on communication channels. Partners with Marketing on best practices on communication channels.
  4. Leads the Crisis Communication efforts and strategies, as identified. Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises.
  5. Partners closely with Senior Leaders and Marketing on strategic priorities and campaigns in which communication plays a key role. Highly involved in event planning communications for key events.
  6. Seeks new methods and creative strategies to increase internal and external awareness of key events and changes in the organization including corporate events, acquisitions, local and national community service, and other topics of interest.
  7. Prepares and delivers high-quality presentations and materials related to employer branding and reputation. Responsible for press releases and provides public relations counsel, as needed. Develop executive-level statements and visibility campaigns.
  8. Create and execute social media content and campaigns. Ensures work is consistently aligned with established strategies and branding. Analyzes social media data and uses it to improve content and campaigns. Identifies opportunities to grow the audience and improve brand awareness. Performs research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences. Stays up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications.
  9. Responsible for employer brand standards, compliance, and governance.
  10. May perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • (K) Has strong knowledge of the disciplines within the Corporate Communication function such as internal and external communication best practices; crisis communication; public relations; employment marketing; event planning; and social media content.
  • (K) In-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business correspondence, public relations, advertising, marketing and sales copy, and social media.
  • (S) Exceptional communication abilities, including writing, speaking, and active listening.
  • (S) Great project management skills, including time management, goal setting, multitasking, and prioritization.
  • (A) Ability to identify and resolve problems through traditional and non-traditional methods of communication.
  • (A) Ability to effectively engage with team members of all levels and across departments

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • In an office environment. This is not a remote role.
  • Prolonged periods sitting and/or at a variable desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to five pounds infrequently.

Travel
  • There may be upwards of 10% travel with the role related to Mergers and Acquisitions events or for other strategic needs in large markets.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications or related field and seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in Corporate Communications.
