Open Until FilledJob Summary The Assistant Director of Creative Video will work as part of the creative team to ensure the production of high-quality, compelling videos and other creative audio and visual content for Utah Athletics. The Assistant Director will assist in determining the creative and visual storytelling direction for Utah Athletics and help push the Utah brand forward. Teamwork, communication, cinematography, and editing will be critical skills for this position. Responsibilities include producing content for select Utah Athletics teams, including highlight/interview packages, behind-the-scenes features, student-athlete profiles, long-form stories, social media content, branded content, and fan engagement videos.Responsibilities This position will work with the creative team at Utah Athletics to generate engaging video content for broadcast, venues, and social media. The Assistant Director will primarily focus on Utah Men’s Basketball and will act as a secondary shooter as needed. Collaboration across multiple departments is essential, demonstrating proficiency in non-linear video editing, color correction, and sound design using Adobe Creative Suite. Experience as a cinematographer in both studio and live sporting events, along with creative lighting and studio setup, is required. The role also includes content creation for ESPN+ broadcasts and may require managing multiple tasks simultaneously.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus three years of directly related experience in shooting video, video production, and content creation.Additional Information The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (URS). Eligible new hires with prior URS service may elect to enroll in URS if they make the election before they become eligible for retirement. This position may require a criminal background check and/or drug screen.
