FASHION INSTRUCTOR
Fashion Group leader works closely with Instructor supports instruction and teachings of Fashion education, to youth K-5 and 6th-8th grade. Ability to work focused centered after-School classroom structure. Fashion will teach drawing, sketch, portfolio, design, cut, and assemble and accessories among other fashion centric modalities and teachings. Facilitate the course competencies with curriculum structure and proactively support creative facets of the learning environment. Encourage a culture of Fashion learning.
Pays $15.00-$20.00
RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.Progressive development of student skills leading to a final projectProvide support during academic/homework hourPromotes positive character development in all youthSet teaching goals for students.Provide a fun, encouraging, and disciplined atmosphere.Be able to control and motivate groups of pupils.Demonstrate leadership, dependability, patience, and concern for others.Communicate course information to students and parents.Provide structure of Lesson Planning and curriculum enhancement.Attend occasional instructor meetings.Communicate requested information to the Artistic Director in a timely manner.Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.Track student attendance, including late arrival and early departure to address any concerns.Have an understanding of health and safety.Follow administrative and governmental safety and personnel policies, procedures, and ordinances.SPECIFIC SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
A profound understanding of fashionThe ability to sew and tailor.The ability to operate sewing equipment.The ability to project in front of a group of students.The ability to implement STEM based structure through teachingsTeamwork and leadership skills requiredClass management skills requiredAttention to detail and strong organization skillsInitiative, flexibility, patience, and creativityExcellent communication skills (i.e., professional ability to attend to customer needs)QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or pursuit or BA CollegeBackground in Fashion, design or equivalent disciplineMinimum of 2-3 years youth central environmentMust pass pre-employment background investigation including but not limited to fingerprinting, employment history, and criminal background check
