Ophthalmic Photographer
in the
Ophthalmology Clinic .Under the direction and order of the physician, the
Ophthalmic Photographer
will perform patient examination that will include fluorescein angiograms, fundus photos, corneal topography, external ocular photos, and videotapes of ocular motility. Will assist with the development and maintenance of computer data base of patient history and diagnosis. Maintains photo records, equipment and supply inventory.Essential Job FunctionsCommunication with Patients and Customers, adjusting to patient and customer needs, respecting one another, and maintaining an appropriate environmentWill be able to obtain images of the eye using the following imaging equipment: Zeiss OCT, Zeiss Visucam, Optovue, Heidelberg, Haag-Strait Lenstar, Optos, Slit-Lamp Camera, Pentacam, and other equipment with training when necessary.Obtains measurements of the intraocular lens with the IOL master.Assist with orders for photographic and medical supplies as needed in imaging suite.Checks equipment and is responsible for informing manager when equipment needs repair or preventative maintenance.Performs other duties as requested by managementQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalencySuccessful completion of an accredited program for Ophthalmic Technicians is requiredApplicant should possess one year of satisfactory, work experience under ophthalmological supervisionMust be certified by the Joint Commission on Allied Health personnel in Ophthalmology or equivalentOne year of hands on experience with using all necessary imaging devices to care for Ophthalmology patient populationCertified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) RequiredCertified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred or within 2 years of employmentPosition DetailsJob Type/FTE: Full-Time, 1.0FTEShift: Day, 8 hours (9:30AM 6:00PM)Unit/Department: Ophthalmic PhotographerCBA Code: Non-UnionIn this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 40 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work the Day shift, 9:30am - 6:00pm, and will be scheduled for on-call shifts. We anticipate you will be scheduled to work 100% at the Hyde Park campus.
