LocationOur Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job SummaryProvides high-level production and audio-visual support and engineering for major university events. Collaborates with event staff, clients, and partners to ensure audio-visual needs and requirements are met for events across the University. Responsible for hiring, training, and managing a team of student assistants who operate AVL equipment.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works directly with clients to plan events and develop creative solutions to make the events successful.
Provides comprehensive live technical production for events, including production management, live audio, and in-house video as assigned.
Gathers requirements, creates designs, and implements the audio-visual and production equipment needs for major events.
Diagnoses and resolves complex problems on advanced AV systems.
Oversees various events on-campus including but not limited to KSU Athletics, Commencements, Professional Athletics, concerts, and corporate events.
Maintains equipment inventory, keeping items up to date and making necessary repairs or replacements.
Ensures proper set-up of equipment per clients expectations and guidelines.
Provides quotes, tracks, and invoices events in Event Management System (EMS) and ensures all information is correct and events are produced to requested specification.
Assists other technical directors across campus when events require additional support.
Manages assigned staff, students, contractors, and other technical directors as required to fill additional needs for larger or multiple simultaneous events.
Works directly with partner production company to quote additional resources for events.
Required QualificationsEducational Requirements:
Technical diploma or Associate's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Other Required Qualifications:
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license.
Required Experience:
Three (3) years of related experience.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Educational Qualifications:
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with PC and Macintosh operating system is necessary. Experience with web-conferencing is ideal. Management Experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesABILITIES:
Able to configure sound systems and route audio, manage events in all circumstances and conditions, exhibit flexibility and handle last minute requests or changes, compile, communicate and provide event quotes and invoices, and handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of live event audio-visual production, Daktronics video displays and related systems, Ross Video Systems (XPression, Carbonite, Mira, Ultrix), Enterprise Audio Systems (Yamaha CL, Midas M32, Dante), EMS (Event Management System), video projection systems, and general knowledge of signal flow.
SKILLS:
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills. Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite). Strong attention to detail and follow up skills. Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette.
