The Director of Retail Marketing will need to work with and maintain relationships with franchisees and the greater franchisee community to build a results-oriented marketing strategy and facilitate collaboration between those groups. The ideal candidate will have a constant pulse on the performance campaigns both locally and nationally and be able to articulate all performance results.

Position Responsibilities:

Set KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and goals to measure success

Monitor closely and lead the communication of site performance KPIs and marketing-related analytics

Lead team to deliver comprehensive store level marketing plans, including multi-channel activities and evaluate the effectiveness of the plans

Work cross functionally to create, share, and execute the retail brand strategy including annual marketing calendar and integrated campaigns designed to grow retail site KPIs and customer loyalty

Create and maintain marketing playbooks, a collection of proven and repeatable strategies to improve specific KPIs

Create a testing culture of fresh marketing approaches to help expand our offering to the Franchise community

Lead the retail strategy on campaigns, and communications needed to support the deliverables across all mediums

Regularly evaluate and measure the success of all retail assets/signage

Lead consumer (guest) research to understand behaviors (buying process and decision-making criteria) and form clear definition of consumer segmentation, target audience members, and lead marketing efforts to document, measure, and improve the customer journey and guest sentiment

Monitor competitive brands and their strategies to ensure alignment and success of company strategy vs. competition at the national level

Lead the research and documentation of local market analysis that includes localized SWOT reporting to help inform and educate the marketing team and franchise partner regarding local market conditions, pricing, competitive features, etc. prior to site opening.

Manage multiple team members including reviews, learning and development, hiring/firing, and other administrative functions in partnership with HR (Human Resources)

Create a team culture consistent with the organization’s goals and empower the team to excel in their roles by creating opportunities to improve

Provide regular communication to and engagement with franchise partners to ensure their full understanding and execution of corporate marketing strategies, including for the purpose of input and feedback for strategy development

Manage advertising budgets including the paid-in franchise brand fund

Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field; MBA a plus

Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in corporate/retail/B2C marketing

Retail marketing experience with a franchise organization a plus

Demonstrable experience blending creative marketing strategy into data-driven, results-oriented actions

Technical savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office; experience within database systems a plus

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Process-oriented and strong collaborator with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and across various departments

Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize workload

Highly adaptable with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to exercise good judgment and make sound data-backed decisions

High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

Views customer care as high priority; exhibits a positive can-do attitude

Displays a strong initiative and drive to identify gaps and fill them

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and operates primarily indoors with limited to no travel expectation.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, team member must be able to:
