Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.THE OPPORTUNITY Scholastic is seeking a Senior Designer to join the Licensing, Brands & Media Art Department, who can create a wide range of products, including covers, interiors, and novelties. Current licenses include Disney Princesses, Lilo & Stitch, Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Gabby’s Dollhouse, and Monster Jam. The candidate should have comprehensive experience designing and managing multiple projects per season.RESPONSIBILITIES

Design:

Responsible for all stages of design and production for 8-10 projects per season. Candidate must be able to concept cover designs, understand novelty formats, and stay up to date on brand aesthetics and requirements.Project management:

Meeting with editors; finding illustrators/artwork/freelance designers; launching projects; managing schedules and deadlines with an understanding of how to prioritize every stage of multiple projects; keeping freelancers on track; responding in a timely manner to requests.Problem solving:

Keep editorial and production staffs up to date on any project complications and offer solutions for successful project completion.Excellent communication skills:

In status and art management meetings; represent projects and team in a professional and skilled manner in art presentation and status meetings.Collaboration:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator. Though not required, experience creating novelties and working with licensed brands preferred.Experience and Education:
