TechChange provides human-powered services like facilitation, production, support, and design and a user-centric platform to support over 500K users across some 800 courses, workshops, and events.

ROLE OVERVIEWTechChange is looking to hire a contractor AV/Event Production Manager to join our team in Washington DC (preferred) or a remote, location to support the technical and AV needs for in-person/hybrid events in Washington, DC, and internationally. This role will work closely with our Manager, Hybrid Events, event managers, key internal stakeholders, and clients to ensure a seamless event experience.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIESAV/Production Scoping and Vendor Management

Collaborate with internal stakeholders & clients to understand their AV production needs and recommend solutions accordingly, leveraging AV/Production firms and/or contractors to provide relevant services and equipmentSupport with scoping out AV/event technical needs and procurement of the right contractors, equipment, and/or vendors to meet the event requirementsReview AV/Production vendor scopes providing feedback to minimize cost and maximize value.Review final billings with senior management to ensure all commitments and contractual terms are met and deposits deducted.

Production Planning / Logistics

Supervise and coordinate the scheduling and job functions of onsite AV technicians., providing on-site program supportOversee equipment setup, operation, and breakdown, ensuring all technical aspects run smoothly.

Event Production

Serve as onsite producer for technical aspects of events partnering with event managers and virtual production resources, translation resources, etc.Coordinate with online production and event mangersConduct pre-event checks and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise with a fast-paced event environment.Communicate and escalate issues to relevant project leads (Manager, Events; Online Producer, VP of Delivery, CTOParticipate in post-conference after action reviews with internal staff, stakeholders, and clients to address any issues and support continuous improvement

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of 4 years of experience in AV production management/production management (events, sports, tv, gaming, etc).Strong understanding of live event technology (audio, video, streaming) and how it relates to achieving a set objective for our clients and their attendees.Basic understanding of technician positions for a corporate event and how each role is utilizedExcellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.Detail-oriented with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing prioritiesExperience working with contractors and/or third-party vendorsExperience with creating Show Flow and Run Of Show documentsMust be able to problem solve, troubleshoot, and provide solutions for customer needs under high-pressure circumstances.

REMOTE/TIME ZONE CONSIDERATIONSThis is a distributed, work-from-home role (remote) with flexible hours aligned with East Coast time zones, serving a global clientele. Preference will be given to candidates based in Washington, DC.

WORK ENVIRONMENTThe position will require extensive time sitting or standing and viewing computer screens from a home setup. COMPENSATIONSalary range: Hourly $30-45 USD depending on experience
