Are you ready to join an energetic, positive, and collaborative team? As a Student Marketing Assistant for the UAF College of Business and Security Management, you'll engage in social media management, event planning, and the use of communication tools and promotional channels. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop valuable life skills while promoting a national innovation competition and a premier leadership event for over 300 attendees. You'll gain hands-on experience in social media, graphic design, photography, and videography.

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.Team members work independently and in a team with supervision. Students may work most hours at the CBSM office, and some hours remotely. Candidates who wish to work remotely part-time should have fast internet and a laptop. All UAF and CDC COVID-19 safety measures must be adhered to.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Basic computer skills

Customer service

Ability to work independently with intermittent supervision

A positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Typical Experience:Experience with social media, graphic design, and photo/video techniques are helpful, but not required.

Required Education or Training:Must be a student at UAF enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.

Salary Information:This is a part-time position for UA students only. It is a Student 2 position, starting at $16.00/hour.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year. The department will hire throughout the year as needed.

Student Employment Requirements:

Must be a UA student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours throughout employment.

Must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA, unless a first-time freshman.
