Position SummarySeeking talented, experienced theatre artist for a combined Music Director/Choreographer role. Must have a strong musical theatre background and an understanding of choreography and/or physical theatre techniques and the interest and ability to teach these elements to middle-school aged students. Must be able to pass a background check.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to, the following)
Take full responsibility for the musical and dance elements of the middle-school production.Collaborate with the Arts Department Producer and the director of the play to create, teach, and manage the musical and dance elements of the middle-school production,
Priscilla Dreams the Answer .Attend production meetings as mutually agreed upon by the director of the play, the Arts Department Producer, and all relevant design personnel.Collaborate with the director of the play to ensure that the music direction and choreography reflects and supports their vision for the show.Teach the play’s music to the student-actors and prepare them musically and vocally for performances.Enthusiastically and compassionately coach, direct, and collaborate with all students involved in the production to ensure a positive, challenging, and educational experience.Throughout the production, in coordination with the Arts Department Producer and all relevant production staff, create and maintain a safe, supportive working environment for all students and staff, free from physical danger, harassment, and bullying.
Qualifications
(minimum requirements)Demonstrated skill and experience in musical theatre, musical direction, and choreography.Experience in educational theatre.Pass Live Scan and Fingerprinting background check.
Hourly Rate:
$25/hourTotal Earnings Potential:
$1,500
