Our client is seeking a hands-on, dynamic, and experienced Leader of SEM Strategy to lead Google advertising initiatives and drive strategic SEM efforts. This critically important executive-level position is pivotal to enhancing the company’s online visibility, optimizing Google ad campaigns, and maximizing ROI through effective SEM strategies. The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated expertise in creating and executing effective SEM strategies aimed at boosting website traffic, enhancing conversion rates, and optimizing ROI. They should be a Google expert with in-depth knowledge of retail and e-commerce industry trends and practices, with a significant history of success. We are specifically looking for someone who has direct granular experience with SEM execution in a retail e-commerce company. This role can be a hybrid position based in NYC or, if necessary, a remote opportunity for the right candidate with periodic travel to company HQ. The salary range is $175000-250,000 BOE.Responsibilities:Develop and execute a comprehensive SEM strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.Provide strategic direction, offering mentorship and guidance to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and business goals.Stay abreast of industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to maintain the company’s competitive edge in search engine marketing.Manage and optimize Google Ads campaigns across Search, Display, Shopping, and Video to drive quality traffic and conversions.Allocate and monitor the SEM budget effectively to ensure maximum ROI.Implement strategies to enhance ad quality scores, click-through rates, and conversion rates based on performance analysis.Utilize analytics tools to track SEM performance metrics and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.Partner with marketing, content, and product teams to integrate SEM strategies into broader marketing initiatives and product launches.Utilize analytics platforms to measure and report on SEM effectiveness, presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.Continuously refine SEM strategies based on performance data to achieve improved outcomes.Qualifications:BS or BA undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.10+ years of firsthand experience in SEM, and digital marketing, with significant tenure in a retail and e-commerce environment.Proven history of managing large-scale Google advertising campaigns with substantial budgets.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.Exceptional leadership abilities with a demonstrated capacity to manage and inspire teams.Expertise in Google Analytics, Google Ads, and SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex SEM strategies to diverse audiences.Deep understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and SEM best practices.
