Structural Designer II - MO

Eligibility:

Responsibilities:Develop Revit models and prepare construction drawings as part of a multidiscipline team in St. Louis, Tucson, Atlanta, GA, and Mumbai offices.Conduct on-site data collection.Correctly apply company drafting standards and perform collision detections.Maintain material takeoff schedules and provide to lead engineer when required.Provide mentoring to less experienced designers.

Requirements & Duties:Build 3D models for steel and concrete structures, foundations, masonry buildings, process ductwork, concrete silos and bunkers, and steel bins and hoppers. Create and annotate construction drawings under direction of assigned engineer.Work on multiple models and projects concurrently.Travel to site to collect information needed for design.Use laser scans to model existing structures in absence of existing drawings.Develop model and create preliminary structural drawings according to engineer's direction using general arrangement drawings and existing structure information.Review models and drawings with engineer weekly and incorporate feedback.Provide fully dimensioned drawings adequate for shop detailing and field construction.Prepare all equipment connection details on the drawings, ensuring proper fit, support, and bolt hole positions.Identify details not covered by company standard drawings and work with engineer to provide required details on the design drawings.Incorporate steel member sizes, concrete dimensions, rebar requirements, and design forces provided by the engineer into the drawings.Check models against other disciplines' models for proper coordination.Address items identified in Navisworks collision detections and run Navisworks collision detections.Work with engineer to resolve any interference or inter-discipline coordination issues.Provide material takeoff quantities by maintaining schedules in REVIT and verifying schedules are functioning properly.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:5+ years of experience with steel and concrete structures.Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.Familiarity with codes (IBC, OSHA, AISC, ACI).Ability to develop 3D models and create detailed construction drawings.Experience coordinating with engineers and other disciplines.Previous use of laser scanning technology for modeling (Nice to Haves).Knowledge of Revit’s scheduling tools and maintaining material takeoff quantities (Nice to Haves).Experience mentoring less experienced designers (Nice to Haves).Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
