Alphanumeric is seeking experienced Freelance Medical Editors

for project-based contract work. Candidates must have prior experience in medical editing and be familiar with medical communications deliverables and style guidelines.

Typical projects may include editing PowerPoint presentations, scientific manuscripts, standard response letters, video storyboards, and congress summary reports. In this role, you will ensure all content is accurate, clear, and aligned with the client's style. Content must be edited according to project specifications and timelines as outlined in the project brief.

Role Responsibilities:Edit and review medical content for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to style guidelines.Fact-check medical information and verify references for accuracy and credibility.Collaborate with writers, researchers, and subject matter experts to improve content and incorporate feedback.Maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology, concepts, and trends.Provide guidance to writers on medical terminology, writing style, and content structure.Job Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in life sciences or English/writing with relevant life science experience.At least 1 year of editing experience in the life sciences or healthcare field.Excellent editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.Familiarity with style guides such as AMA, APA, or similar.Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and reference management software.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ethical considerations in medical writing and publishing.Passion for healthcare, education, and delivering accurate, engaging content to diverse audiences.
