Position Title: Director of Product Design and Development
Division: Seminal Consumer Products Licensing

Reports to: Head of Consumer Products (UK)
Join Seminal One, a fast moving, pioneering player within the world of copyright and art licensing, working specifically within the Consumer Products division of Seminal One. Collaborate closely with regional Licensing sales teams across North America, LATAM, APAC, and EMEA. This role presents an opportunity to lead the creative division in partnership with the sales teams, liaise with Licensees, Licensing Agents, and key stakeholders within Seminal One and contribute to a ground-breaking technology business in a rapidly growing market.
Role Overview.
As the Creative Director at Seminal, working across a portfolio of clients both internal and external, you will spearhead the creative vision, approval processes and systems and strategy for retail product, ensuring that all creative designs and activations resonate with the target audience, drive brand awareness, build retail loyalty, and increase sales. You will also collaborate closely with marketing teams internally and externally, to develop compelling and innovative campaigns that elevate credibility and drive sell through.
We are looking for a creative thinker with a passion for design and innovation. Someone who is willing to roll their sleeves up and get involved and help build from the ground up. You will possess strong leadership and team-building skills and be detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality. You must be collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with other teams from around the world. You will also manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities.
Design and produce materials including but not limited to: style guides, product concepts, marketing assets both digital and physical, sales materials including pitches, signage, and in-store environments for internal and external use.Partner with external clients, and internal marketing, product and sales teams, to understand business objectives and customer needs and develop creative strategies that support them.Research industry trends, and present to internal/external teams on competitor activity, and customer preferences, translating them into creative strategies that differentiate the brand in the marketplace.Facilitate creative approvals for consumer product designs, and maintain a high level of quality, accuracy, and attention to detail across all creative outputs including assessing licensee manufacturing processes.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure creative projects meet business objectives and expectations. Liaise directly with Licensees for product approvals and coordinate with artists for design approval when necessary. Provide support to artists for direct commission works and manage their involvement in product approval.Experience.
7+ years' experience: Product Development functions within consumer products and or retail or manufacturing, showcasing hands-on involvement in ideation, design and development processes.Product Development and Approval: Proven track record in product development and approval processes, emphasizing a deep understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle from concept to market-ready products.Consumer Product Licensing: Prior experience in the consumer product licensing business, showcasing familiarity with licensing procedures and industry-specific nuances.Strong portfolio showcasing successful consumer product designs and collaborations.Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch) and trend research tools.Excellent communication, leadership and project management skills.Ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment and foster collaborative relationships.
