Associate Technical Designer - Children's wear

Sweet Apparel is a leader in Junior's, Women's, Men's, and Kids fast fashion apparel. Sweet Apparel designs, manufactures, and imports apparel under its own labels as well as multiple Private labels. Our clothing can be found at major retailers including TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, Forever 21, and more. The company is growing and looking for a full-time, Associate Technical Designer to join the Children's wear team on-site at their Midtown Manhattan office.ResponsibilitiesWork with multiple product categories (tops, dresses, skirts, pants, athleisure, sweaters) for Girls and Boys divisions (sizes 2T-16) Knits and Wovens.Accurately measure Fit/PP/TOP samplesAttend fit sessions and take detailed notesResponsible for identifying and calling out any fit/construction/workmanship issues to be addressed and communicating all corrections and revisions to factoryCreate initial tech packs for costing and fit sample submitsEnsure all corrections have been made at the pre-production sample stage to secure the fit/quality for production.Work with Private label accounts to achieve desired fitKnowledge of Children's apparel safety regulations and standardsKnowledge of grading and ability to issue graded specsAbility to adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are metTrack and manage sample statusAssist with keeping sample library organizedBuild collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including design, merchandising, production, and sales.QualificationsDegree in Technical Design or Fashion Design4+ years experience in Children's apparelKnowledge of sewing construction, patternmaking, garment manufacturing, and fabrics.Proficient in PLM and ExcelAttention to detail, sense of urgency, willingness to learn, team-playerExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment
