Please click here to review our Applicant Privacy Policy.HOW WE TAKE CARE OF YOU:For full time employees, Health, Dental, Vision, 401K with generous matching program, generous paid time off.Potential Annual Bonus Opportunity.50% discount at restaurants and retail locations.Career advancement opportunities as we are growing!For more benefit related information please click HERE.Please cut and paste this URL into a new browser to view our detailed list of benefits or apply directly on our career sitehttps://www.tommybahama.com/content/dam/tommy/Career%20pages/Tommy_Bahama_Benefits_Final_WA.pdfSET THE COURSETo collaborate with and support designer in the creation of an apparel line that is attractive to the Tommy Bahama customer, and to work with a team of designers and other staff to ensure the quality of the products is world-class.BE THE ISLAND GUIDEPartners with Senior Designer to develop all categories of Men's SMU/ Men's sweaters and special projects relating to Licensed Sports (color, pattern, styling, fabric selection).Assists in researching trends for Tommy Bahama customer based on business strategies.Develops CADS & colorations.Prepares presentation boards as needed.Develops computer coloration and prepares development cards that articulate colors, specifications, fabrics, and all information necessary so that samples can be created.Assists in developing sketches for garment styling and updates as necessary for Tech Pack.Assists in developing construction specifications and Tech Pack creation in collaboration with Tech Design for both woven and knit styles, tops & bottoms.Assist in creating & updating BOM's & Tech Packs in PLM.Checks samples with Tech Design and Production teams for adherence to specs, color, fit, fabric and construction.Collaborates with Senior Designer & cross functional teams in resolving production problemsOrders samples, under guidance of Senior Designer.Approves final samples under guidance of Senior DesignerCommunicates feedback to cross functional teams under guidance of Senior/ Associate DesignersFiles and tracks all sample order information.Works with Associate Designer in Licensed Sports on creating CADS for tracking purposes.Listens to feedback from Merchandising & Sales to learn about the Tommy Bahama customer.Follows up on details with Merchandising, Sales, or other departments where questions need to be answered by design team.Works with Senior designer on SMU / Men's Sweaters meeting presentations through effective logistics, meeting planning, and follow through skills. Assist in Licensed Sports presentations.Prepares and maintains CADS presentations for product assortment reviews.Works with designers & leadership to ensure cohesive line, and best quality product availableRecognizes team members as valuable contributors and listens to their feedbackPrepares for presentations & coordinate samples to account executives for SMU/ Men's Sweaters.Seeks new ways to make design processes more efficient and shares ideas with design teamWorks as efficiently as possible, while also focusing on quality results for the line.Seeks ways to improve his/her abilities and skills as a person and as a design team member.Contributes to the success of the entire team, and takes responsibility for results.Flexible for other duties as needed to help support the overall business.ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISEDegree in Fashion Design or related experience preferred1-3 years of previous design experience in an apparel company highly desirableExperience in PLM or equivalent highly desirableComputer graphics experience with strong knowledge of Photoshop highly desirableAdvanced Illustrator skills highly desirableExperience with the apparel design process from concept to product.Knowledge of garment constructionAbility to listen and incorporate ideas into new designs or products. Must be able to approach each season without a rigid set of rules because of constantly changing trends, yet be able to meet tight timelines."Can-do" or "supportive" attitude that doesn't allow personal ego to get in the way of effective team product results. Willingness to take on less desirable tasks to allow team to succeed is essential.Ability to follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent time management skills.
