POLITICO is seeking exceptional college students and recent graduates for its Summer editorial internship program. Interns work on our magazine, our news desk or our policy reporting teams (including E&E News):
News interns cover fast-paced developments in real time, quickly turning around stories on Washington’s most important power players and events
Policy interns work as full-time beat reporters covering the political tensions and policy debates over the federal government role in every aspect of American life
Magazine interns fact-check and produce POLITICO’s long-form stories and analysis, assist the editorial and visual teams with research, and pitch, report and write their own ambitious features on American politics and culture
E&E News interns report on energy and environmental issues, covering the ins and outs of politics, science, policy and business to keep top decision makers informed and ahead of the curve.
Internship date ranges and application deadlines:
Application Deadline: Application decisions will be rolling , and the last day to apply is November 15 at 5:00pm EST.Internship Dates: June 2025 - August 2025Hours: 40 Per WeekCompensation: $23/HR

We welcome applicants who are recent graduates. Applicants who are still in school must, at least, be rising juniors. The internship is full-time and based in POLITICO’s Rosslyn, Virginia, headquarters.
