POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Manager, Scientific Communications, is responsible for supporting Collegium's product portfolio through the development and dissemination of accurate and strategic scientific content. This role is to ensure communications are scientifically sound and convey the key messages to different audiences. The Senior Manager will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the strategy and activities of the Medical Affairs team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all scientific communications adhere to regulatory guidelines and industry standards including ICMJE guidelines
Contribute to the development, implementation, and execution of publication strategies and plans including forecasting publication timelines, resources and managing costs associated with pub development
Serve as the subject matter expert on publication-related matters including internal and external medical inquiries and reviews
Establish and manage strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including KOLs to ensure high-quality analysis, interpretation, communication, and publication planning of data
Interpret study results and collaborate with HCPs (e.g., study Investigators, physicians) in the development of scientific communications content, such as conference proceedings (e.g., abstracts and presentations) and/or journal manuscripts
Initiate ad hoc data analysis (e.g., survival analysis) of clinical data sets and provide strategic recommendations to key stakeholders
Develop and lead the slide development of studies and able to present upon request
Responsible for managing the publication process through Veeva and MRC
Provide support and lead congress-specific activities
Own the library of key publication resources

QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in biological science or related field required (PharmD, Ph.D., or MD)
3-5 years of related experience within medical affairs role (MSL, Medical Information, Medical Communications, Publications, etc.) strongly preferred
Knowledge of the Pain Management and Neurology therapeutic areas preferred
Advanced knowledge of Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to work well in cross-functional groups and in a matrix organization
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Some knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical clinical development and commercialization process
Familiarity with regulatory and publication guidelines regarding medical communications strategy and execution
