Position Purpose

House of Possibilities' Gift Officer & Communications Manager will be an active member of HOPe's Advancement Team, working to support and solicit outright, multi-year, and planned gift commitments from individual donors for Annual Support and HOPe's Capital Campaign.

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, this position will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and volunteer leadership to achieve annual fundraising goals and advance prospects through a pipeline of current and prospective donors to preserve HOPe's annual philanthropic support while growing giving toward an eventual gift to HOPe's transformative Capital Campaign. Beyond supporting advancement efforts and soliciting gifts, the Gift Officer & Communications Manager will also be responsible for developing communication materials for the Advancement team's stakeholder engagement and donor outreach.

The ideal candidate has excellent relationship management, persuasive writing, and communication skills. The candidate thrives in a face-paced environment and is a collaborative team player.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as required.Collaborate with Advancement staff, board of directors, and volunteer leadership to manage, update, and implement fundraising effortsDevelop and implement overall strategies for engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship with the goal of increasing the number of gifts and revenue for a portfolio of 80 - 120 existing donors and prospective donorsSupport HOPe's annual fundraising efforts through the development of mail and digital solicitations as well as peer-to-peer fundraising events like the Flutie 5K and Boston MarathonOversee the design of accurate, engaging, and original content, including website posts, social media updates, and donor correspondence aligned with HOPe's mission and Advancement objectives

Other DutiesPartner with staff and volunteers on solicitations by preparing briefing and solicitation materials, providing strategic guidance, and assisting with donor communicationsManage internal donor tracking and moves management for portfolio and support Chief Advancement Officer with tracking outreach and efforts with all major gift prospects and donors in SalesforcePerform prospect research to gather detailed information on prospects' background, giving history, and potential philanthropic interests to inform request strategiesProactively manage several projects to ensure completion in a timely manner

Minimum Required Technical Skills and QualificationsComfort in asking individuals to commit their money, time, and/or talents to support HOPe's missionAbility to build relationships and communicate effectively and respectfully in-person, on the phone, and digitally with donors, board members, volunteers, and colleaguesDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet concurrent deadlines, and organize priorities in collaboration with diverse stakeholdersProficiency with Google Drive, Canva, and Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) like SalesforceAvailability to work on occasional nights and weekends

Education/Certifications/LicensureBachelor's degree

Language SkillsOutstanding presentation and communication skills and the experience and proclivity to be an outgoing spokesperson, relationship builder, and fundraiser
