Executive Communications Strategist

to directly support the CIO, Chief of Staff and Division Chiefs within the Office of the CIO (OCIO). The

Executive Communications Strategist

will coordinate strategic communications, public relations, and branding; produce work products in coordination with all relevant stakeholders, and serve as a strategic advisor by guiding OCIO’s reputation and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

Coordinate strategic communications, public relations and branding. Develop and execute a strategic communications plan that tells a consistent story and builds stakeholder trust in the CIO brand. Weave in the IT Strategic Plan, Agency Strategic Plan, Agency policy priorities and OCIO achievements towards effecting those priorities.

Serve as a strategic advisor by guiding OCIO’s reputation and internal/external stakeholder engagements.

Produce final work products in coordination with all relevant stakeholders. Edit work products drafted by others and/or be responsible for self-generated content creation. Ensure all material being presented to the CIO meets professional content and format expectations.

Ensure all work products are completed on-time and are of high quality. Coordinate with the CIO and/or Chief of Staff to ensure no external deadlines are missed across OCIO.

Build a strong rapport with all stakeholders to fully grasp OCIO's organization, IT projects, IT service offerings, risks and needs, and be able to translate and communicate related technical information from the OCIO staff to Agency leadership and non-technical audiences.

Facilitate and guide the effective flow of information from the CIO to the OCIO staff.

Determine the real needs of internal and external customers by asking the right questions, listening and confirming before acting.

Follow through on commitments made to internal and external customers.

Identify and recommend improvements to processes or more efficient ways to accomplish tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing a team, preferably at a CIO's Office.

Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting a CIO directly.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to zoom-in to understand details and zoom-out to put them into context.

Possess an understanding of modern technologies and technical communications.

Final salary determination based on skill-set, qualifications, and approved funding.
