The appropriate candidates for this role will have the ability to apply an intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues for HMS's Alaska Medicaid client. Business Analysts will work on problems/projects of moderately complex scope. They will exercise independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action and act as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. In addition, the Business Analyst will follow established guidelines and interpret policies, evaluate unique circumstances, and make recommendations. Here are the details on this position.Your role in our mission

Formulates and defines system scope and objectives using knowledge of information technology and industry knowledge/requirements.Gathers information from the system, analyzes program and time requirements, and prepares documentation to change existing programs.Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.Acts as a liaison between client and technical solutions/support groups, using strong communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate business processes, systems, and solution requirements.Researches, identifies, and specifies solutions to problems.Supports and conducts visualization, user experience, and configuration elements of solution design.Documents required specifications using high-maturity methods, processes, and tools.Supports requirements management and change management processes.Supports aspects of the business cycle, including proposals, feasibility studies, and implementations.Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.What we're looking for

Four or more years of business analysis experience.Experience working with business processes and re-engineering, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience with requirements determination using structured techniques for documentation, analysis, and evaluation/validation.Experience working with computer programming concepts and basic language.Interpersonal skills, presentation skills to present to management and customers, and personal computer and business solutions software skills.What you should expect in this role

Must reside within commuting distance of Anchorage, AK for this hybrid position.Office/Work-from-Home/Hybrid.Work-from-home (WFH); or Hybrid model including in-office and WFH days to be defined.For positions assigned to WFH, reliable high-speed internet connectivity is required. Employees working-from-home may be required to report to the office, at times, to support work efforts.Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation.The deadline to submit applications for this posting is September 3, 2024.The pay range for this position is $59,500.00 - $85,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
