This position will be located in

Melbourne, Florida .Essential Functions:Facilitate the customer’s product vision by conceiving, sketching, and prototyping experiences for digital products with a user-centered design approach and consideration to HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) and Human Factors principles.Translate research data into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.Lead user research efforts with the proper stakeholders and collaborate with the user research team for insight, as well as, rapid prototypes and GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces).Be flexible and iterate designs in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments.Use one or more industry standard design and prototyping tools to create wireframes, visual designs, and interactive prototypes.Participate in design critiques and take suggestions with grace.Make and articulate strategic design decisions on existing products and conceptual product ideas.Self-starter with accountability to prioritize, improve, and manage daily tasking while supporting multiple efforts, and complete HMI design updates with limited oversight.Confer with subsystem engineers and subject matter experts for project details regarding background information, project parameters and objectives, presentation approaches, styles, techniques, and other graphics-related production factors.Consult and brainstorm with staff to develop innovative ideas, concepts, solutions, and materials for human interface designs.Create and oversee preparation of illustrative materials; including iconography, infographics, mockups, wireframes, and diagrams.Communicate the value of UX to stakeholders to ensure all Agile stories meet the acceptance criteria.This position may be hired as a Multimedia/UX Designer or Principal Multimedia/UX Designer based on candidate education, experience, and qualifications. Bachelor of science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 2 years of professional work experience as a UX designer, or a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline.Principal Multimedia/User Experience Designer:

Bachelor of science degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of professional work experience as UX designer, a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of work experience as a UX designer, or A PhD in a STEM discipline.Demonstrated experience with Adobe visual design or prototyping tools including Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.Demonstrated experience utilizing UI/UX design principles.Must have an active

DoD Secret

clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.Preferred Qualifications:An active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance.Experience on an Agile Software Development Team.Experience using wireframe and mockup products such as: Balsamiq and Adobe Creative Suite.Salary Range:

$56,600 - $85,000Salary Range 2:

$69,600 - $104,400The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
